The referees’ team consisted of such “figures of the whistle” as Vitaliy Lazarev, Dmitriy Bondarenko, Alexander Pavlinov, Eduard Kursteba, Dmitriy Kubryak and the captain of the team Vitaliy Godulyan. Another famous Odessa referee Evgeniy Abrosimov was unable to take part in the match because of the injury.
We should of course thank the organizer of the match – German Shuysky, the coach of “brownies”, who has trained more than one generation of both football players as well as referees. Before the first whistle captain of the referees team Vitaliy Godulyan (referee of international level, who referees the games of Ukrainian football premier league and Euro cup matches) presented captain of “brownies” Oleg Tuleybach with captain’s band and a football with autographs of all members of the referee team. As of the match itself, it went on without any gross violations, since when superior referees are playing all of the fouls are clearly visible.
That is why the most dangerous in this aspect “brownies” – Oleg Tuleybach and Eldar Zhitovetsky (who has never left the field without warning before) did their best not to break the rules and did an excellent job. During the match referees (who are by the way national champions in the referees’ championship) were ahead in points for many times, but players of “brownie” were winning back those points each time. It is especially interesting that as “reserve” Oksana Celutina also hit the referees’ goal, although with referees’ defense adequate help.
The result of the match 9:9, and series of the after-match penalty kicks didn’t help to distinguish the winner – draw game 6:6.
Both football teams agreed with such result and a photograph with people who referee matches of the highest level will take its spot in the football history of FC “Brownie”.
