Young actors and their leader Nikolay Barkasov started working on a fairy tale “Pippi Longstocking” by Astrid Lindgren after successful New Year`s performance at the Way Home.
Unfortunately, it`s not possible to dramatize the work of Sweden author of fairy tales in corpore, that`s why only some chapters were chosen in which “social subject area is keenly showed” – as the leader of the team noticed.
Nikolay Barkasov commented upon the future performance: “Seven children take part in the performance. Every hero has an interesting character, children quickly catch on the nature of their characters and sometimes they even overact. We have “a period of stagnation” yet, but I think that in two weeks we will go to the stage”.
Plastic rehearsals are held simultaneously with the reading through the text. The choreographer Oksana Maksimenko works with the actors – in the director`s idea, there will be at least two dancing episodes.
We should also mention the social subject area of the performance. Here I afford to quote a small part from the Pippi`s monologue, which I have heard at the rehearsal “…a girl, living alone in a huge house, whose father is a king at the island in the ocean and mother is an angel at the heaven…” – a child who doesn`t have parent`s care and lives in a big house. “Kind people” try to get her into governmental organization for kids and thieves want rob her…
