The first year of the street football project for street children "Red card to child neglect" came to an end. Super-final tournament in mini-football took place at January 31; it was a glue between UNICEF and the Coca-Cola.
Since February 1, exactly trademark Coca-cola is the official sponsor of the project.
In mini-football tournament three Odessa team took part – the teams of boarding school № 4 and educational complex № 90 and the football team "Brownie". The fourth group Express-Med was unable to compete due to illness of the major players (parents decided to leave their kids home because of chill).
Therefore, the organizers had to make adjustments in the scheme of the tournament – the guys played a match less, instead of the three games in one round. But this in no way influenced by what was happening on the ground Sports Complex of Odessa Marine Academy.
Fighting on the field was tough, despite the status of friendly competition. Viewers saw a lot of interesting points, saves from the goalkeeper and, of course, goals.
Unfortunately, the football club “Brownie" failed to win a single game, finishing up the tournament with the third place. But progress in the team game can be seen clearly, especially when compared with the last competition in Ternopil. If "Brownies" scored only one goal in four games there, then on January 31 they were able to distinguish themselves for 9 times at the opponent gates. However, these goals were not enough to win.
The guys from the boarding school № 4 conquered the first place in a persistent struggle. It was they who won the grand prix tournament - trophy for first place and soccer shoes.
Second place - this is the result of team performances of the educational complex № 90.
Third place - FC “Brownie”.
Rita Bezverhaya, representative of "Brownies", was appreciated as the best goalkeeper of the tournament; incidentally, the only girl who took part in the competitions.
Well, prize to the best player of the tournament went to Artem Smirnov, also from "Brownies”. Artem showed precocious mature game, and despite the fact that he yielded a lot of players in the bill, you can't deny that he has in technique and football thinking.
Senior referee and part-time coach of "Brownies", Herman Shumsky awarded teams with cups and trophies. By the way Herman is a permanent member of matches of the "Chernomorets" veterans and regularly scores goals in the gates of the rivals, despite his honorable age (73 years).
It is necessary to thank all the organizers of the tournament, as well as the director of educational complex № 90 Igor Stetsenko, director of the Odessa orphanage № 4 Anna Tryfan and President "The Way Home" Sergey Kostin.
